Trout with Taties and Veg

My husband and I tend to eat on the cheap but we still eat really nice, relatively healthy meals. My husband needs to eat a lot because he’s pretty big, and we are somewhat health-conscious…but mostly we just really like our food!!

Today’s dinner was:

– Two trout fillets from Sainsbury’s. The price varies slightly by weight but I think it was just under £2.70.

– A tin of Sainsbury’s ‘Basics’ potatoes, 20p.

– A tin of Sainbury’s ‘Basics’ sliced carrots, 20p.

– A bit of margarine, a bit of lemon juice, and some salt and pepper (the last three optional really).

Basically we preheated the oven, got a baking tray and put tin foil on it. Then put the trout fillets on, put some slits in them, and then put the marge, lemon juice, salt and pepper on them. Fold the tin foil over loosely so it’s like a parcel, and shove it in the oven. Will probably take around 15 minutes.

We boiled the potatoes on the hob and shoved the carrots in the microwave for a few minutes.

And voila, tasty,cheap, healthy meal. 🙂
